What exactly is CranioSacral Therapy?
March 20, 2008
There’s a heap of ways I’ll answer this and I won’t get it all done in this blog. Let’s cover the basics. CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a body therapy. In other words it’s hands-on. It’s not a massage though. I guess the thing that is most obvious is how gentle, still and quiet it is. Little new born bubbies just love it. That’s one of my favourite topics and I’ll keep it for another blog.
CST is a therapy that treats pain of all kinds. It might be emotional pain like depression, or anxiety or it might be physical pain like headaches or back pain. I consider CST to be a MindBody therapy. What I mean is that CST treats human pain, whatever and wherever it is. Physical pain affects your emotions, and vice versae your emotions affect your health and wellbeing. In my opinion, they can’t be separated.
I’ll give you an example. I have a client who has shocking headaches and TMJ problems. She doesn’t sleep well and she’s stressed. Most of her problems come from her stress, which is the result the way she reacts to things. This is a mind thing and it’s affecting her body. CST treats it all.
Wishing you Well
